What's goin on?

Drew's hobby for a couple weeks was making clay minis.  This is a mini smoothie he's pretending to drink.

When dad was gone deer hunting we went and saw the Peanuts movie in 3D.

After the movie we went to eat at Jimmies in Vadnais Heights.

Drew got some trick golf balls from Tina that he painted with Flat Stanley.

He moved some of boxes around to put up in the tree house.

He also found Furry Bear at the Dollar Store, while I looked for tissue paper and glue to hang up Drew's paintings in his soon to be new art/playroom.

Suddenly Drew is showing an interest in action figures.  We watched the "The Toy Story That Was Forgot", and he had to have the action figure, "Rex."  That's not his name from the movie...the real guy's name is Reptilius Maximus.

Bingo at Centerville Elementary School.

They had lots of bingo games, popcorn and raffles.  The gym was full, and it's an annual thing.

October

In October the weather was so nice!  We had a fire, and read books around the fire!

Our tree was extra special this year!

September 2015

Starting off September, John caught a bass off the pier right in front of Tina and Gary's pier.
The guys have been busy building the tree house, along with a table that Drew painted all by himself.
We also got the pier out of the water and stained before the middle of October.  Yeah, us!
Drew finished up flag football.  John had a lot of fun coaching him, and I had fun watching the last game.  Drew, not so much.  He would have rather been home sewing.   LOL!

While John and I worked outside on the pier, Drew put up most of the Halloween decor by himself.  Unfortunately, he didn't put it all away.
In the morning before Drew goes to school we've been working on projects.  He hasn't enjoyed school so much, because he hasn't had time to work on his projects at home.  This is one of the projects that we did the last week of September.  His latest project is dictating a book to me while I write it, and his teacher, Mrs. Dandelet, is letting him sew at school during free choice.
Level Up put on their first all school assembly.  It sure was fun watching Drew sing and do all of the hand signals.

On October 2nd, we celebrated Nala's 15th birthday.  We figure she is about 88 in people years.  Well, this all depends on which site you google.  I googled this site and average the age of a Sheltie and an Eskimo.  http://www.pedigree.com/all-things-dog/dog-age-calculator/default.aspx

Drew got some new neon pajamas, just in time for us to turn on the heat.

2nd day of school

Drew met a new friend today, and her name is Luna.  He also learned that he can use Noodle.com at home on the computer.

Happy Endings and New Beginnings

We spent the later part of August vacationing at Izatys resort in Onamia, MN.  The weather was pretty windy, cold and chilly the first couple days, but got better towards the middle of the week.  We watched a lot of movies in our unit the first couple days.

When the weather got a little nicer we went for a bike ride and short hike up to the SUPER TALL tower in Mille Lacs Kathio State Park.

Gallops posed for photos while John and Drew climbed the VERY TALL tower.

Drew had lots of Minecraft time on the couch this vacation.

Drew was being silly sliding down the steps and making funny noises and faces.

When the weather got a little nicer we did some reading out on the patio.

Gallops just wouldn't stop posing for photos.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the clubhouse ran some fun art projects.  The activities coordinator, Leah,  was almost more silly than Drew.  They had a fun time together.

The next class Drew wants to take is ping pong.  He thinks it's a pretty fun sport.

Here are all of Drew's finished art projects.

The last project was a sun visor.  This is Drew and Leah posing together.  It almost looks like they have matching visors.

The week before school started we had all the moms and kids over for one last hoorah.  The weather turned out to be cold and rainy, but the kids still enjoyed the pool.

Drew has been busy practicing flag football on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  The final game is coming up Sept. 22nd.

Labor Day weekend the Espinosas came over for some lake fun. Drew took some time out in his nearly finished tree house to watch some of the action in the pool.

Our new beginnings began yesterday when Drew started Kindergarten.  This is his first K breakfast upon request--blueberry pancakes.

Drew is attending Level Up Academy in White Bear Lake.  It's a charter school for grades K-5.  His first day went really well.  His favorites things so far are lunch and recess.  He was looking forward to gym class today.  Both Drew and I were ready for the change, and everything went off without a hitch.    Soon I'll be starting my coursework towards my MN teaching license, and looking for some part time work.  We will keep you updated on that venture.
