May 2015

Some days Drew just likes to wear things the opposite way.

When John went back for work in Racine, Drew and I took a ride in the canoe.  He was strong enough to help me get it in the water.
In the middle of April we went to visit grandma and grandpa.  We stopped at Knuckleheads in the Dells to get our food delivered by the toy train.

Toria and Drew got some poppies from the O'brien Family reunion in Evansville.  All Adrix got was the flu.

Maica and her son David were in Roseville for a hockey tournament.  Drew and I met them afterwords at the Mall Of America.  The only ride that Drew would go on was the Merry-Go-Round.

On May 2nd Drew lost his first tooth.

One of Drew and Toria's favorite pasttimes is turning off the lights when they are on the stairs, and then using flashlights to see.

Drew had the idea to make rainbow playdough, and then make mini figurines out of it.

2nd day of  t-ball practice for Drew and his coach.

For Mothers Day we went to Stars and Stripes in Wyoming to play some video games.  It took Drew over an hour to use his tokens, and it took his dad 10 minutes to use his. 😄 He won his biggest prize to date.

Mid-April

The weather has been fantastic!  Drew has been enjoying just hanging out by the lake.

What is this?

Drew had a art show at his preschool.  He had fun showing me all of his art projects.

His friend Victoria came to the art show too.

Last week we went to Hidden Falls Regional Park in St. Paul.  We did a little hiking, and rock tossing along the Mississippi.

To Easter and Beyond.....

On the 28th of March I took Drew to an Easter Egg hunt in Vadnais Heights, and this Easter Egg hunt went so much better than last years Easter Egg Hunt.  Last year Drew didn't get a single egg because there were so many kids, and it just wasn't organized.

I was pretty excited about this Easter Egg hunt because they had it arranged into different age categories for the kids to look for eggs.
We found our area quickly....it was ages 4-5 and the bunny came just on time.

He was a big funny bunny, and he was up for the photo op, for sure.

Here are some photos of Drew before the Easter egg hunt  He was so excited for that hunt.  It was really fun for him to know that he was going to line up with a bunch of kids and go for it....He found 3 eggs, and 1 of them had a hidden treasure.  We exchanged the piece of paper treasure for blow bubbles.  Well, dang.... the bubbles spilled quickly after we got home.

After that we went to the the Vadnais Heights Elementary Schoolhttp://www.whitebear.k12.mn.us/VadnaisHeights/
for the school carnival.   Drew played games that allowed him to get lots of free trinkets.

It was a nice day when we had the winter tires changed on the car.  We sat outside and worked on our sticker book.

This little masterpiece is from a workshop that Drew went to at KidCreate studio in Woodbury.   It was a discounted class, so the family only paid $15 dollars for this little gem.  He LOVED it, and asked if he could go to another workshop.

On the day of the badger final four we went for a bike ride, and we wound up trecking through the Centerville Elementary School playground wooded woods....Believe it or not, John brought his bike to go down in the woods and explore.  BTW, the Badgers won and made it to the Championship game.

At home the guys worked on cleaning the cars.

The lake thawed out the first week of April.

Not to mention that the night before the lake thawed out.....it was Easter.  That Easter Bunny did a great job.  He hid a bunch of eggs all over the place, and hid the basket behind a different chair this year.

So, the Easter Bunny left Drew a clay pot maker.  That Easter Bunny is something else.  Drew shows the many faces of clay pot making.  LOL!

Daddy even got a new grill for Easter.  It wasn't from the Easter Bunny though.

Big guy hanging out taking a break from putting together the grill.
