Stuffed Lamb

Drew always is coming up with ideas for projects that he "can't" do.  This one was making a stuffed lamb.  It nearly sucked the life out of me.

Selfie

Drew told me he's not in to Legos, but apparently he's in to taking selfies.

Drew's Photo Frame Project

Drew created his own framed art project and had me write the directions.

How To Make a Frame Picture

  1. Get a piece of paper
  2. Draw a picture on the paper
  3. Get one cotton ball
  4. Color the cotton ball
  5. Rip the cotton ball into little rollie things
  6. Glue it all around the edges
  7. Show someone your frame picture

5th Birthday Party

Drew woke up in the morning to a new sled, snow shoes and an aquarium.

His birthday breakfast (his choice) consisted of yogurt and fresh fruit (a parfait).

Three families showed up for his b-day--The Parkinsons, The Olsons and The Jewitt's.  Grandpa and Grandma were here too!  The Biren family was sick, and the Espinosa Family was too busy.

The families had snowball fights, built igloos and played toss the hat on the snowman.

The kids had an action packed game of Capture the Flag in the snow.

Grandma made Drew a Snowman cake.  All the kids enjoyed it, except for Blake who wanted ice cream.

After the cake, the kids had fun playing upstairs in Drew's loft.

One of his favorite gifts was a castle from Victoria.

Towards the end of the night the kids were pretty wild, and they did lots of laps through the kitchen and living room.

The following day we all went to see our first family movie since 2008.  We went to see Anniei in recliner seating, at the Oakdale movie theatre

Trip Final

We joined up with my friend, Beth and her kids in Phoenix.  We stayed at the Marriot Springs Villas in North Phoenix.
One day we drove up to Sedona and did a hike on Bell Rock.  It was the only traill open because it had snowed.

Most of the time was spent at the hotel exploring and swimming.

The kids got to hold the lizard, Gonzo.

We did another hike up Pinnacle Peak in Scottsdale.

The last day with the kids we went to Dave & Busters to play some video games.

On our way home we stopped at Frontier Town(also known as Cave Creek), to do some some last minute souvenior shopping.

Disney and thereafter.....

This first shot is a beach shot from where we stayed when camping at Leo Carillo.

Here is Drew on the shuttle on his way to Disneyland for the first time!

With lack of planning, we forgot to bring any food...so we needed to make a stop for a hot chocolate and a chocolate chip muffin...along with a few other necessities.

The first place we went was Frontierland, and Drew's first interest was the guns.  We gave him 50 cents to give it a shot.   He aimed at the squirrel instead of the red bullseyes.

The steam-powered paddleboat Mark Twain took us around a little island.  We were looking for opportunities to get off of our feet.  Drew had to get to the top level for the best view.

We should have done the stroller from the start... great for us to get some exercise, and it was the only way for Drew to make it through the day.

Every once and a while they blocked off the street for a parade to come through.  Pretty fun!

Jellyfish ride!  This one went up fast, seemed like it would be fun... it was a really short ride.

Drew supervising his made-to-order hard-over eggs.

What lengths we go through to get Drew to smile sometimes.  He blocked daddy off, so good thing the guy behind us jumped in for the photo bomb.

Ahh... a beach!  After all of our Disney adventures, a little running in the sand was in order.  This was Carlsbad, a great place to hang for a few hours before heading off toward Phoenix the next day.
